What type of golf equipment is required for novices?

by Ophelia Smith

If you are just starting to play golf, your requirements for golf equipment can not be same as that of Tigerwoods requirements. Just take it light and excuse the impression from above as you really need to go to the basics while starting to play golf. Golf playing is purely a skill that needs to be developed with practice. Starting with clubs worth thousands will no be more helpful for you as you need to go with second hand clubs worth fifty dollars.
Basics of golf start with the selection of clubs. Shopping on internet can save you precious time and money but this selection can be difficult as there seems to be enormous options available for you. Studies have shown that dramatic increase in the sale of golf clubs have been noticed in the last two years but people really do not know what they are buying. I think the reason is that the people have more money than sense. Every year in March, normally considered as the start of golfing year, huge number of new members are seen on the first tee having golf equipment of thousand dollars with miser golfing skills. Whether you are playing golf for few years or just a beginner, you need to know your requirements properly. Decide carefully and well within your requirements, as savings can be spent on other golf apparel.
What Essential Equipments You Need To Have?
Without being foolish, you need to have following essentials. Golf cartWaterproof golf shoesGolf balls
Golf Carts
Some people like to carry their bags but most of the golfers prefer to purchase a golf cart. These carts can be either manual or battery operated. Manual carts can be folded away in the trunk of your car but battery operated carts are more complex and need some handling tips before usage. Beginners need to carry it on their own but still they can purchase golf carts with in the limitations of their budget. .
Golf Shoes
For playing golf, specialized waterproof shoes are must. If your shoes are not waterproof, put them in garbage as due to wet feet you can run the risk of nasty cold or flue. For better golfing, your feet must be dry all the times.
Golf Balls
Don't be silly in the selection of ball, as it will make difference in distance and spin. If you are a novice, you should expect to loose more, so do not be silly by buying the latest and greatest. Just look to develop your accuracy in the game otherwise you could be losing valuable distance from the tee that means the difference on your next shot from an eight iron or a comfortable pitching wedge.
Golf Tee And Golf Gloves
Short and simple, higher tee should be selected if you are using oversized head. For this plastic or wooden tees can be best option as these do not break easily. You should also have golf gloves to grip properly in damp conditions.

A Closer Look At Tiger Woods Golf Swing

by Wade Robins

Golfers didn't used to focus so much on fitness as part of their golf training. It seemed unnecessary to spend your time doing stretches and exercises that worked out parts of the body that weren't "golf-specific."
Then, along came a 20-year-old kid who blew all these old golfers out of the water, hitting 180 mph balls off the tee. The era of Tiger Woods had come.
Suddenly everyone wanted to unlock the secrets of the Tiger Woods golf swing. It was obvious he had a different way of going about things, and eventually this young golfer would change the way we train and play.
There's more than just the mechanics of the swing. Let's take a look at what makes Tiger Woods golf swing so solid.
It's All About Keeping Fit
One reason Tiger can swing like that is that he's flexible and strong. If you need any evidence that a good overall fitness program to build strength and flexibility is essential for a great golf swing, look no further than our man Tiger.
Tiger Woods knows that golf is a full-body sport. That's why he follows a rigorous training routine that includes the whole body and not just golf-specific exercises. He has always advocated weight training and stretching as part of a golf practice routine.
It's All About Energy
Tiger uses every little bit of energy he can. When he swings, he turns his body fast while gently pushing his right leg (the back leg in his swing) forward. The result is that no energy is wasted. All the potential energy he's built up in the backswing gets released, and the full force of it hits that ball.
He can do this because he has a strong core. The study of biomechanics has taught us the ways in which all the parts of the body work together to give you a good golf swing. The core is your lower body and torso. When you swing at a golf ball, your core is like the axis, and the rest of the body rotates around it.
A perfect golf swing like Tiger's involves efficiently winding up and storing your body's natural energy, then releasing it in a natural and controlled way.
It's All About Smooth, Natural Movement
But, it's not over when he hits the ball. After he smacks the ball, he lets his body follow through and finish that rotation. The club ends up behind his back. He lets it swing freely around him, allowing it to follow its natural course.
Tiger swings all the way through the ball. Stopping the full rotation before it reaches its natural end tenses up your body, and can have a disastrous effect on how you hit the ball. Swinging all the way through adds distance to your shots. This is why he lets the rotation follow all the way through.
It's All About Your Mind
Finally, Tiger Woods keeps relaxed. It's hard enough to keep yourself relaxed when you're making a shot with your friends, but imagine when the entire golfing world is watching! But, keeping cool is essential in golf, more than any other sport, and Tiger never loses it out on the green.
If you follow these tips, you'll be just as good as Tiger Woods in no time. Just kidding. But seriously folks, watch Tiger Woods golf swing and you'll see your own game improve.

The Wonderful Game of Golf

by Gary A

If you are new to the game of golf congratulations you have found one of the greatest sports to not only test your skills but also your mental toughness. The wonderful game of golf. It truly is a test. Golf is an astounding sport and tests every ounce of the human body and mind. I stumbled across the game about 7 years ago while in college and I haven't stopped since. The game of golf is intoxicating, once you have it in you can't shake it. You will continuously look for ways to improve your game. You want to be sure that you do things right from the beginning. This includes everything from the simple swing to the art of putting. I strongly suggest taking lessons from a golf pro. Every golf course has one that is qualified to instruct. They can help with every aspect of the game. Lessons can be very costly so make sure that golf is something that you really want to devote time and money to. I also encourage reading as many books as possible for rules, golf etiquette, and golf techniques or tips. This is a low cost way to help with the basics of golf. I read many books online, I found them to be cost affective and a good way to understand the golf swing and the mechanics behind it. After reading a couple of books I would signup for an actual lesson, so I would understand the basics before actually using them or practicing them. You want to make sure you are doing everything correctly. Golf is a wonderful sport and can be shared with the whole family. It doesn't matter if you are a girl or a boy, a grandma or a grandpa. The game can be played by all and can be enjoyed for a lifetime. So get out there learn about the game and enjoy yourself.

Great Game with a Golf Driver

by Nathalie Fiset

There are many things that a golfer must aim for. Of course, a great game is always on the list. However, to ensure that one gets to improve the golf skills and ultimately the game, it is crucial to make use of the essential golf equipment. There is more to playing golf than just getting a golf ball and a bunch of golf clubs. You need equipment such as the golf driver to improve on your shots on the golf course. This golf driver is surely a handy companion to all golf enthusiasts.
The Golf Driver
The golf driver plays a big role in the performance of any game. The golf driver is used to hit the ball off the tee. It is aimed at assisting the golfer to determine where the ball will land. It also serves to set off the direction of the game. The golf driver will definitely have a big influence in the score that the golfer will get.
With the golf driver at hand, it is completely possible to have a good game. Hitting the golf driver long and straight with all your heart in it can very much be a start of a good outcome.
If the ball is able to reach the fairway through the golf driver, then it is easier to aim for the green. You can get near the green, if not completely on it. Getting a shot to the green is a big deal. From here, the golfer can try aiming further for the better shot for a par. If the golfer can even do better, then getting a birdie is not impossible.
On the other hand, if you do not focus enough on using the golf driver properly, you will end up in a weird situation. Your ball will end up out of bounds or land on some trees or traps if you fail to seriously make the long and straight move with your golf driver. That is not something that you want if you are aiming for a serious golf. Thus, focus properly on your game and make the most out of the help that your golf driver can extend.
Evidently, most golfers will definitely rely heavily on their golf drivers. All sorts of golfers, beginners, low handicap players, and even the pros, do need the help of the golf driver. This is why you have to make sure that you have a golf driver in your golf bag when you play. This could be your big shot to making a birdie. It is definitely worth the try.
Choosing the Golf Driver
Considering the importance of the golf driver, it is important that you get your own set. There are lots of sporting goods shops out there where you can easily purchase a golf driver. However, it is up to you and your discretion to pick the right one that will best suit your needs and circumstances in the golf course.
Like most golf equipment, there are all sorts of brands and manufacturers of golf drivers. There are plenty of choices. Thus, all you will have to do is to discern which one will work for your game.
Most people will rely on the brand name, thinking that they can get the good performance if they pay high for their golf driver. This may be true in some instances. However, choosing a good golf driver must first focus on the design and function of the equipment. Find one that has been developed by technology to fit the needs of golf players. There are considerations such as allowing the golfer to manage the driver as regards balancing the center of gravity. This gives the player more control over the game. You may also want to look at the options provided for the shaft.
Most golf enthusiasts may also worry about the price range of the golf drivers. It is possible to get golf drivers at discount shops. This will be the more affordable option. Also, there are some good sporting brands that manufacture series or designs that are set at a lower price. You can take opportunity of this to ensure quality with your affordable purchase.
Play a great game of golf with your golf driver. Use it to improve on your skills and your performance. This way, you can aim high with your golf.

Golf Head Cover Designs

by Nathalie Fiset

Playing golf can be one of the most favorite past times for a wide variety of people. If you have the time, the right golf technique, a good movement coordination, and of course, the resources to acquire golf equipment and to get to a golf course where you can play golf, you are almost all set to enjoy golf. However, although many may seem to nod to the idea that golf is all about those mentioned basic requirements, some beg to disagree. There's more to golfing if you are a fun-loving person and that is making your equipment top of the line, golfing accessories included, such as golf head covers.
What is a golf head cover, a newbie in golfing might ask. It is that golf accessory that protects the golf driver, and even irons if you have a full set, from getting damaged during travels or just when you are in a hurry to pull a club out or drop one into the bag.
What's the use of a golf head cover, as mentioned, it is for protection. Since golf is a not-for-the-pauper game, golf equipment can be with very hefty price tags. The expensiveness of golf equipment is the very reason that many golfers need to protect their stuff. A golf head cover can help in this arena.
Golf clubs need utmost care and one of the most critical parts of golf clubs that require care is the golf club head. Why? The golf club head can make or break your game since this part of the golf club is the very part that gets in direct contact with the golf ball. Using golf head covers can solve a golfer's dilemma about how to care for this important part of his or her golf clubs.
One of the greatest nemesis of many golfers is rust on their golf club heads. And as nature has made it to be, rust can't be avoided. A golf enthusiast can be very particular in maintaining their golf club heads clean and safe from rust. But it's just impossible to expect rust to never visit your golf club heads because these golf equipment are made of carbon steel which is plated with chrome. As one uses a club, it gets exposed to abrasion, friction, and moisture, which builds up to produce rust. And rust on golf club heads can eventually turn a great golfer's greatest hit into a bad one. You can slow down the process of allowing your priced golf club heads from succumbing to annoying rust - use golf club head covers. The golf head cover will keep the club head dry, which will consequently delay rusting.
Now after the uber-functional discussion about golf head covers, let's go to the fun part. Golf head covers are also considered status symbols. The style of your golf head cover will indicate what your preferences are in terms of aesthetic value and of course, it will show what you can afford to buy. This is because there is a myriad of golf head covers, even designer ones that the more sophisticated type of golfer will definitely love.
So what are your golf head cover design options? Choose among the following popular designs by deciding which will suit your personality best.
Plain golf head cover exists for those who hate too much trinkety sporting equipment. It can be less taxing if you are someone who gets disturbed by too much color or attention, especially from other golf players.
Popeye golf head cover is available for those who never get tired of the Popeye cartoon show. You will almost hear your golf club head munching on spinach if you use this style of golf head cover. Just kidding!
A bulldog golf head cover is for you if you simply love dogs, especially bull dogs. Great for really virile guys who want more fun from golf and some attention from other golfers, say girl golfers. Arf!
State flag design head covers are for those who are very patriotic and would always appreciate anything that symbolizes his or her country.
Your own golf club might be giving away free golf head covers. Just ask.Enjoy protecting your golf club heads with fun golf head covers!

The Game Named Golf

by Acario Daire

Golf is a very popular sport especially among the elite. It is played in a vast expanse of land covering many acres and is generally known as the golf course. The golf course has a number of holes mostly eighteen into which the ball is hit from the designated area called the teeing ground.
The player plays his first stroke on each hole from the teeing ground using a small wooden or plastic peg called the tee. There are a wide range of tee boxes which comply to any type of players whether amateurs, professional or skilled players. The teeing grounds are mostly flat enabling the player to have a perfect shot.
Two important terms used in the game of golf is fairway and tough. The first stroke of the ball might land the ball either in the fairway or rough. Fairway is that area where the grass is neatly trimmed short and even, thereby helping the player to hit the ball with ease. Whereas landing the ball in rough means to hit the ball in the rough area of grass which is rough and longer. It is rather hard hit the ball in this area and the it affects the flight of the ball.
Although the holes are placed straight ahead of the teeing ground, some holes are bent either to the left or right like a dog's leg and thus aptly known as 'dogleg left' or 'dogleg right'. Many holes are addressed as hazards and they are of three types. Manmade dugout or trenches are a hazard, lakes, rivers etc are known as water hazards, and gardens, bushes and dense vegetation are called as lateral hazard. There are a set of special rules which imply while playing in these hazards.
The cup or the hole into which the ball is to be sent should be 108mm or 4.2 inches in diameter and mostly 100mm or 3.94 inches deep. The cup is not permanently established it can change positions day to day. A flag is usually positioned inside the cup so that it can be seen from the distance. The grass or the green should me maintained and kept short enabling the ball to smoothly roll over it.
The ball when hit outside the borders of the golf course which is generally termed as 'out of bounds' should be hit back from the same place with a penalty of a stroke. But if the ball happens to land in an area under repair or ground under repair the player can be placed outside the 'G.U.R' area and hit it again without penalty. Other note worthy playing areas is the practice or driving range which is specially designed to hlp the beginners practice the game.
Players thus keeps on hitting the ball from one hole to another and the player who rests the ball in the holes with few strokes emerges as the winner. Usually golf players walk around the golf course in a groups and the caddies or helpers carry the game equipments of the players.

Where To Play Golf In Europe's Winter

by R. Ritchie

Europe's winter can be down time for less intrepid golfers, and many avoid the winter chill and opt for a golfing holiday in southern destinations. Whether it's a trip to the nearby Canary Islands or Cyprus, or a longer journey to Mauritius, a relaxing game of golf in the sunshine is the perfect antidote to the winter blues. Just imagine, in just a few hours you could be on a green with the sun on your back.
Cyprus offers golf and moreCyprus is one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean and its warm climate makes golfing a pleasure year-round. Scenic pine-clad mountains and a stunning coastline form a backdrop to its excellent golf courses. If you fancy a touch of luxury, stay at the Paphos Amathus Beach Hotel and you'll have good access to the island's 3 golf courses as well as the charming old town of Paphos. The many local vineyards offer wine tasting and there are excellent dining options outside of the hotel.
The oldest course in Cyprus, the Tsada Golf Club, with its undulating, natural fairways, runs through fruit orchards and vineyards. It is a par 72 course set 500 metres above sea level, that would suit both high and low handicappers. At the nearby par 72 Secret Valley course, well-maintained fairways are well separated. The newest course, Aphrodite Hills is set on cliffs above a beach and is surrounded by forest. The par 71 course is divided by a deep ravine.
Canary Islands - a winter golfing favourite Gran Canaria is a fantastic winter golf destination, and the historic par 72 Real Club de Golf Tenerife in the north of the most popular of the Canary Islands, Tenerife, is the second oldest golf club in Spain. The club is situated at 600 metres above sea level, with well-established trees, rolling fairways and deep cliffs, and accuracy is the name of the game here. But since there are six golf courses on Tenerife, you'll have a chance to try more than one. Par 72 Abama, set amongst thousands of trees, is winding and tactical with 22 lakes to get over or around. Preference is given to residents of the Abama Resort.
Gran Canaria, known for its beaches, is evolving as an excellent golf destination and there are now five courses. The par 7 Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas, in the centre of the island, is the oldest golf club in Spain. Located next to the crater of an old volcano, its short course, with its narrow fairways and small greens, require accuracy more than power. Near to the city of Las Palmas, the par 72 El Cortijo Club de Campo is dotted with lakes and features views of the ocean.
Mauritius - golfing in paradise This idyllic Indian Ocean island, with its white sandy beaches, offers golfers a choice of three courses. Belle Mare Plage a luxurious four-star golf resort, sited on a beach protected by an offshore coral reef, has two championship courses. The demanding Legend Course has two sets of 18 holes, with fairways lined with trees, and greens with spectacular backdrops. The relatively new par 71 The Links Course includes a practice fairway and a tough uphill fairway with a water trap. The hotel also offers a variety of water sports. All the well-appointed rooms have sea views.

Teeing off at Tournaments With Golf Travel Bags

by Ajeet Khurana

"Fore", "par for the course", "a hole in one", "golf travel bags", and "Tiger Woods" -- familiar terms associated with the familiar sport of golf. We all know the rules: grip a golf club with both your hands, swing the club hard, hit the golf ball such that it whooshes through the air and falls into the hole beside the flag. Sounds quite simple, does it not?
Of course, you certainly don't need me to tell you that it is not as easy as it is made out to be. Sure, you probably won't end up getting bruises unless you use your club as a weapon, but will you manage to get that elusive "hole in one" with your very first swing? The probability is extremely low. There is a science and an art to every swing that a professional golfer makes. Not everybody is born a Tiger Woods, but everyone can learn the basics of the game at least.
So, how does one start? Well, first, you need to go get some equipment. Golf clubs, golf balls, either a book on beginner's golf or a coach, and a golf course where you can get enough practice at swinging the club and hitting the ball, as opposed to missing it. Also, a golf travel bag might come in handy, especially if you discover that you have the potential of a professional golfer. After all, every pro has to travel to the various tournaments. If you have invested good money in equipment, you need to ensure that they travel safely and reach the destination as good as new. As you find a footing in this non-violent gentleman's sport and prove to everyone that you are good at it, you will surely be off to new destinations with a golf travel bag in tow.
Why is there no specific travel bag for soccer or football though? Why do golfers get such advantages? Perhaps it is because, even while playing, golfers do not indulge in roughshod behavior with their clubs. A good golf club is forever, and can make the difference between winning or losing a tournament. A good golfer takes good care of his equipment, and as such has developed the quintessential golf travel bag.
Of course, buying good equipment, and getting hold of a decent golf travel bag is essential, but if you do not possess the instinct and drive of a golfer, those "I-am-turning-pro-tomorrow" dreams can never come true. As with all things, a little talent is far more important than the material tools you possess.

With discount golf articles golf turns affordable

by ken wilson

Some say that golf is the most expensive sport. The high costs make it available in most of the cases only to the wealthy people. The others have the option of discount golf to purchase golf clubs and other items.
The costs of an average round of golf let us take for example the USA is $36 and in this country, over 26 millions people enjoy the game. In USA, most states have public courses affordable for the average player. This connects directly to the system of green fees. There are the public courses paid by the municipalities and the courses in the inexpensive real estate areas, which are more affordable for all. The most expensive green fees are in the most expensive urban areas where golf courses are.
In our days, golf tends to identify with the pastime activity of wealthy business people or of some categories of professionals (lawyers, doctors, politicians, movie actors). Nevertheless, what makes golf so expensive apart from the practice of green fees? Let us try to operate a comparison with other sports. First, golf is not a sport where you can share the equipment like in football, where 22 players can play a single ball in the same time or even like basketball where the ball goes amongst by 10 players. In golf, it is rather expensive to purchase the entire set of golf clubs or even to rent it.
Playing golf as written before requires paying a green fee to enter the golf course. By contrast, football or basketball played on the public playground is free of charge. It is a fact that golf is not a school game and by that, we are targeting the fact that this game does not have an exposure to a large category of people. For instance, during school years, most children have contact with sports such as football, basketball, and sometimes tennis, but never with golf.
Another fact that makes golf an elite sport is the social aspect. Throughout the last years, golf turned into a recognizable mark for business people who now had the opportunity to develop personal relationships through this game.
Nevertheless, what about the rest of the people who wants to play golf? We have seen how expensive it can be to play golf, but there must be a cheaper solution to acquire the necessary equipment. Indeed, this solution is to buy from discount golf providers. A beginner with less money in his pocket should know that there are plenty of opportunities to buy discount golf equipment, golf packages and even discount golf vacations.
There are two ways of finding discounts: on the virtual shops over the Internet and on specialized brand shops that offers discounts on special occasions. Over the Internet, the dealers save money by not having a retail location to support. Moreover, they can reach a larger market and do a larger volume of business so their costs are lower.
Specialized branded shops occasionally offer discount golf equipment. You can go to the shop and try the golf clubs before you even buy them. If you go alone, make sure you buy something you really need. Study all the offers and then shop the needed golf clubs. We can say that this is a market for all those who want to play golf, wealthy or common people, it does not really matter. Golf, with a bit of a struggle, can become a sport for more than just a category of people.

The Simple Golf Swing - Drop 7-12 stokes in about 2 weeks.

by Steve Perry

The Simple Golf Swing - Drop 7-12 strokes in about 2 weeks.
By Steve Perry
How would you like to be able to play a round of golf with Tiger and actually be able to compete? I would too...but I was not blessed with Tiger's natural ability. Unfortunately, I am what you would call just the ordinary average golfer. I usually have that 1 perfect shot per round that keeps me coming back for more each and every week thinking that I am starting to "figure it out". Of course, each and every week the scores just keep adding up to the same thing.
Does this sound familiar?
That was me until I discovered the Simple Golf Swing System by David Nevogt. Unlike other books that I have read, David's techniques were easy to follow and I truly noticed a difference in my swing the very first time out just by getting set up properly before each shot. Now don't get me wrong, I didn't go out and shoot my best round ever...in truth, my score was 2 strokes over my previous outing. The difference was that I was hitting more solid shots and I kept hitting my approach over the green!
The setup of a swing is only the start of the Simple Golf Swing. Once you cover that, you can make sure you are using the correct grip with pictures that show exactly where to place your hands. After you get used to these 2 steps, you will actually get into the meat of the swing.
The most important thing to remember is that practice really does make perfect. If you don't practice the steps to the Simple Golf Swing, you will not improve your scores. Also, remember that golf is just a game and games should be fun...however, it is always more fun when you see improvement.

5 Reasons to Plan Your Ireland Golf Vacation

by Judi Mehrens

Ireland has some of the most impressive golf courses in the world. Here are 5 reasons to book your vacation.
The Ballybunion Courses, both Old and Cashen, are a must see and play for any serious golfer. Located in the Southwest of Ireland, County Kerry, the course is 65 miles from Shannon and presents a lovely drive to get there. The town of Ballybunion welcomes with a statue of President Clinton in full golf swing. The Old course is said to remind visitors of St. Andrews, and Cashen, built in 1984, is described by one site as "a theatrical event all its own, and a highlight of any golfing visit to Ireland."
Druid's Glen, 30 minutes south of Dublin in Newtownmountkennedy, County Wicklow, is considered to be one of the finest new parkland courses in Ireland. Located in an area known as the Garden of Ireland, in an area of abundant wildlife, the course is considered Europe's answer to Augusta. The name of the course comes from a pre-Christian stone altar discovered during the construction of the course. The altar stands today with a Druid presiding over the 12th green.
Royal Dublin Golf Course sits on an island just 3 miles north of Dublin. It was the first club in Ireland to have 18 holes. Although originally built in 1895 in Phoenix Park, it moved in 1890 to Bull Island, in Dublin Bay, its present location, which is also a protected wildlife habitat. Besides offering a glorious golf experience, the setting provides breathtaking scenery.
Lahinch, County Clare, is often described as "the St. Andrews of Ireland," and the site also offers two courses, Old Course and Castle Course. Lahinch town is just over 30 miles west of Shannon Airport in County Clare. Founded in 1892, the course today is a favorite of Phil Mickelson. Castle Course offers the sights of Castle ruins as you play.
Finally, Adare Golf Club, County Limerick is host to the 2007 Irish Open. It is an 18-hole parkland course established in 1900. The course is built around the ruins of Desmond Castle, built in 1200, and the ruins of the Franciscan Abbey, built in 1464, offering challenges and diversions.
A tour of Ireland's magnificent and varied courses is certainly on every serious golfer's wish list. These are only five courses out of hundreds to be found in Ireland. There are accommodations either at the course itself or quite nearby, and they range from luxury to more basic. You can plan your vacation yourself or avail yourself of the many tour planning companies that specialize in golf vacationing. While not cheap, there are ranges of prices to fit most budgets.
Make this your year for an Ireland golf vacation.

A great golf swing

by Jerret Bonds

You can have a great golf swing that brings about the power you need to achieve distance and precision. But many of us never learn the correct swing technique by ourselves.
The golf swing of a adept player is different from the amateur player in that it has the correct swing plane and has a correct swing tempo. Your golf swing tempo is a innate part of your physical and athletic skill and is a very hard facet of the golf swing to teach. The golf swing plane on the other hand can be altered and corrected to remove most frequent mistakes.
The largest stumbling block in learning the correct swing technique and therefore playing better golf, is mastering the poor habits that are deep seated in your golf swing. Bad golf swing practices are very hard to master in my belief for one simple reason, and this is only my personal view and experience, most golf swing pointers center only on one facet of the swing to amend your problem.
The golf swing, for most of us, is one of the most complex motions a person can bring about. Correct set up at the moment of addressing the ball is important to a successful golf swing.
If you're similar to me, you began playing golf when a buddy took you to a driving range. Or perhaps your initial taste of golf was actually at a golf course. Chances are though you began hitting golf balls minus any type of proper training. You're not alone! Do you know anyone that hit their first bucket of golf balls with a golf instructor watching over them, instructing them in proper set up and swing plane?
As for myself, this is when my improper golf set up and swing plane was initially picked up. And before long I had a persisting slice that I have exhausted many years trying to master.
Without the correct set up, this involves your stance, grip, addressing the ball, back swing and follow through, you're swing will begin wrong and consequently will contact the ball wrong. The solution that I have found is getting myself back to the basics. I had to learn my golf swing from the ground up, this meant forgetting the things I thought I understood and permitting myself to be instructed in the proper golf set up and swing.

Golf Club Care - Look After Those Golf Clubs!

by Martin Haworth

Playing golf, by definition, involves taking metallic objects (mostly), into places where they are going to thrash around in the dirt for several hours. So they are going to get dirty at the very least. And that's on good days when the weather is good.
For most of us, we don't have that hotline to the forces of nature that keep the rain out, so in worsening conditions, golf club care is a priority if we want to maximize our performance.
Not to mention protecting the investment we've made in that great set of golf clubs we just bought.
Particularly if you bought cheap golf clubs, or used golf clubs, you might be less inclined to spend a half hour cleaning up after you finish your round. The important thing to consider here is not the size of your investment, which may be smaller that the exorbitant prices you can pay for branded golf clubs, but the impact on your game.
By being careful, shot by shot, as you play your round, you can clean as you go, which means each time you take a club out of the bag, you know that it is in perfect condition and you have a great chance of playing a good shot.
Keeping dirt, grass, moisture and sand off your clubs, will enhance your playing performance, as well as giving you the confidence you might lack with golf clubs you paid a little less for.
That's not to say those who spent a lot of money on the latest branded golf clubs need take less golf club care. On the contrary, of course. You have a serious investment to protect!
There are simple measures anyone can use in their regular golf club care. Having the right golf accessories is probably the key action you can take (apart, of course, from actually using what you have!). Good head covers protect your golf clubs in the hurly-burly of transit from home to course.
Simple cleaning tools are vital as well. And when you do, eventually get them home, a good golf cleaning product can help as well.
Golf club care is not rocket science. It's simple, quick and easy when you get into a routine.
So, by taking care of your golf clubs, not only will you do the best job possible to look after any financial investment you made, but you will also being doing all you possibly can to get the best scores out of those very golf clubs you own.

by Robert R. Taylor

Have you ever wondered if you needed golf swing instructions? How do you know if you need them and can they be beneficial? If you considering improving your golf swing, you will want to stop what you are doing and pay attention to this article. This is my gracious donation to the excessively complex universe of golf swing instructions. Let me say that I have got lessons, and they assist a small bit, but I am consistently told that the proper biomechanics of a golf swing are something I am painfully deficient in. There are many types of instructional materials that can be useful to you the golfer if you are willing to improve your skills, simply it's one matter to be informed, however it is another to put the suggested proficiencies into practice.
