How to Introduce Kids to Playing Golf

by Rick Fletcher

You love to go golfing and you always, well almost always, have a great time on the course. Getting outdoors in the sunshine, on beautiful park-like grounds does something to remind you how much fun life can be. You've thought about it - wouldn't it be great to share the experience with the kids? Maybe you've even imagined giving each other high fives after a great shot, or sharing memories for years to come after a great trip to the course. You haven't brought them along yet, because you're concerned about them hitting the ball all over the place, keeping up with the group ahead, and the resultant stress turning your beloved sport into an exercise in discipline and disappointment on all sides.

I'm here to tell you you're not alone. As the father of three boys (I began teaching them how to play golf at 5 years old - they're now 17, 19 and 21), I too was hesitant in bringing them to my "outdoor sanctuary". I'm glad I gave it a try as it has resulted in a lifetime of fun for all of us, and I'll share some tips in the hope you too will give golfing with your kids a try.
  • Get them some good equipment. Junior golf clubs have come a long way since we used cut down clubs as kids. There are now even junior hybrid clubs! I have been building custom junior golf clubs for a little over nine years now (over 20,000 clubs at last count) and the quality and technology that's available for juniors these days is spectacular!
  • Teach your kids the basics of the grip, stance and swing in the backyard, or in the house with plastic whiffle balls. At this point there is no need for formal instruction for the youngest ones, as they need to get out there and have fun right away. All they need from you is to show them how to place their hands on the club, not grip it too tight, and how to swing with smoothness and tempo, rather than as hard as possible.
  • Get the clubs into their hands as much as possible. If there's a driving range nearby, perfect. Try to get them down there as much as possible, and make sure to not skimp on the sodas or trips to their favorite fast food restaurant afterwards. Or set up some cups in the house or backyard. Pins and cups are available on-line for the backyard; tournaments can even be set up with neighborhood kids. Our kids even constructed trophies using cardboard, felt pens and scraps of wood.
  • Contact the local course to find out the best times for kids to play. Your local Par 3 is the absolute best place to take kids when they are just starting out.
  • When you arrive, keep the list of rules short, but make sure to give them the following guidelines: no running on the greens, do not hit until I tell you it's OK to hit, do not set your clubs on the green, and last but not least, we're here to have fun. If at any time you are not having fun, let me know and we'll go home. Let them know it's OK to get frustrated, just keep trying and remind them it took you a long time to learn to play. If they lose interest, leave right away before it turns ugly.
  • To keep score or not to keep score - you be the judge. As a tee ball coach we were told not to keep score, but many of the parents did anyway. It's part of our competitive nature to know "who won". If you do keep score, that's fine, just remind them they are there to learn, not to score well on every hole. What matters most is that they have fun, learn more about the game and want to come back and do it again!
Golfing with kids can be a blast or it can be a disaster. Hopefully these tips will help you eliminate the disaster part and replace it with a lot of fun and great times out on the course!

How to reduce stress on your lower back in the golf swing

by William Wetere

"How to Reduce stress on your lower backin the Golf Swing"
Golf swing tips to reduce stress on your lower back in the Golf Swing
The modern golf swing with the focus on a rotational swing has caused many a golfer to suffer from lower back pain.
The stress caused on the lower back with this type of golf instruction has resulted in many golfers simply giving up or worse suffering back pain for their golfing life.
Rehab for golfers suffering from back pain normally comes in the form of stretching, massage and gym work outs. Strengthening your core muscles increases your bodies ability to reduce harm to your lower back. Your core is used to provide stability in your set up and retain balance throughout your swing.
Whilst this is a good fix for some, the REAL problem or the cause still remains.
The cause is your current "golf swing"
Mike Austin and Dan Shauger the author of "How to Kill the Ball" and "the 21st Century Golf
Swing" have the secret for reducing stress on your lower in the golf swing......"The Perfect Swing Golf Instruction" course.
Mike Austin a master in Kinesiology understood the bio mechanics of the golf swing better than most. He knew every muscle and joint in the body and their role in making the perfect golf swing. He spent 70 years of his life teaching and demonstrating his golf swing instruction.
He is known world wide for driving the golf ball 515 yards at the age of ........64. Even in
his 70's Mike Austin was driving the ball over 300 yards.
When the body is used in the correct way the golfer is able to swing as hard as they want without any FEAR of pain.
We use our hips in a lateral movement from left to right on the upswing and a lateral movement from right to left on the downswing. The use of the hips this way allows the body to move with out causing any pain as rotational movement is limited.
In our golf swing we move the hips from "side to side" they only turn as a result of the shoulders turning in the backswing and the right knee turning in the downswing.
We release the club head from the top of our swing and use the right knee for directional control. The use of the right knee actually takes away any stress on your lower back.
I have worked with golfers who have been able to overcome their back pain by using the swing method developed by Mike Austin and Dan Shauger.
We have the tools available to help you restore your golf game so that you can start enjoying golf without the fear of back pain.
We guarantee our results as this golf instruction method has been proven time after time.

The Simple Golf Swing Technique

by Charles

Are you tired of continually ending up in the hazards at your favorite course? By simplifying your golf swing you can greatly decrease your handicap and improve your enjoyment of the game.
Complexity is the killer of accurate, consistent golf. By simplifying the biomechanics involved with the swing you will be able to deliver the ball consistently to hole each and every time.
Minimal wrist action is a key factor in perfecting your golf swing. By reducing the angle of your wrist cock you will immediately see improvements in your ball distance and accuracy which will put you closer to the optimal golf swing.
By shortening the arm swing you are able to control the ball better than with the over swing that most players are burdened with. By keeping the arm swing short you force the head and upper body into correct spinal alignment allowing you to obtain the best golf swing technique.
Controling your rhythm, or fluidity, will make you considerably more consistent than any of the "rapid pull and release" techniques. You should make sure to keep your head and body steady as well as keeping your arms loose and fluid in order to get closer to the simplest golf swing technique.
By reducing the complexity of your swing you will move closer to your perfect game. By working on the three things above you will be about as close as you can get to the perfect, simple golf swing.
You will hit the ball farther and more accurately, not to mention more consistently. As a result you can lower your handicap and achieve the perfect, simple golf swing.

To golf or not to golf in Puerto Banus

by Seb Jay

To golf or not to golf in Puerto Banus: That would be the question facing the golf enthusiast who might find himself in this playground of the leisure class. The wide-ranging feast for the senses afforded by this destination is awesome enough to tempt even the most die-hard golf enthusiast to forsake the green for some swinging of another kind.
Let the putting go on - Now that would be the mantra of a fanatic golfer, and Puerto Banus' La Dama de Noche serves to cater to this genus. Presenting to you the first of its kind--a golf course illuminated at night so you can putt away to your heart's content or till you drop. What could be more enervating than golfing in the tranquillity of the night with a tropical moon for company? Los Naranjos is another golf course which however, is famed for its daunting 18th hole rather than any such curiosities. All courses on the Costa del Sol are within easy reach if you have transportation handy.
The Marina - What distinguishes Puerto Banus from the other holiday destinations in the area is the spectacular beauty of the Marina, which at any given time can harbour a thousand sleek yachts. Another popular sight is that of celebrities who frequent this spot and are quite at home in the sunny surrounds.
Saturday Morning Market - This is the place where you may find articles ranging from exquisite antiques and fake designer merchandise, to fancy baubles and trinkets at bargain prices: if you know the art of bargaining that is. It covers the area from the entrance of the port to the Plaza del Mar Shopping Centre, and is open 9.00a.m to 2.00p.m, which leaves you free to head back to your favourite golf course for a session if you are so inclined.
When hunger strikes in Puerto Banus - That's when you realize the incredible range of the gastronomic adventures available. You are simply spoilt for choice. The Lonestar Brasserie whose menu includes the basic pasta as well as spiced fish fillet, would somehow seem rather tame in comparison with the El Rodeito bill of fare which includes blood pudding from Burgos, stewed pigeons, and others which defy description.
Getting around Puerto Banus -This Andalucian wonderland is best explored at your leisure where you are not tied to unreasonable time-tables that cramp your style. This is easily done by hiring a car for the duration of your stay. You can pick up the vehicle of your choice right from the airport, provided you make an advance booking. This can be done online at Your-Carhire.com - specialists in Spain car rental services along with your other travel arrangements and it saves you hours of waiting in long queues, when you could be checking out the golf courses. It would be a good idea to request an air-conditioned vehicle if you are planning a summer visit, and to also reserve a child car seat in case you are travelling with children, as this is mandatory according to Spanish road laws.

Golf from the Perspective of a Businesswoman

by Patty Frasure

It is hard for most women to understand why men enjoy playing golf so much. How can it be fun to spend two or more hours walking around a large golf course while facing the heat, wind, cold, rain, or whatever else nature might throw at you. A woman's perspective on this game usually changes, however, once she is invited to a golf outing, particularly a business meeting in the form of a golf outing.
Attending a business meeting while playing golf is much more enjoyable than attending a meeting in a board room. The time that is spent talking with the top executives of your company as well as many of your potential clients will really open your eyes to a new world that is the game of golf. Before you know it, you will begin to feel that a golf course is the only place you want to conduct business anymore.
Conducting business on the golf course could also lead you to want to play more in your spare time. For one reason, you will want to improve your game so that you can impress your colleagues and clients. Another benefit of taking up golf is that you can network with other businesswomen who play golf. It is a great way to bond while sharing ideas. Golfing with your fellow business women can be much more fun than attending a purse party and can even be more effective than trade shows. You don't have to be a professional golfer to get on the clients good side and close a sale, you just have to go out there, have fun, show them a good time, and relate.
If you are a businesswomen who has never tried incorporating golf into your life, why not give it a try?

Rolling Around the Course: Knowing your Golf Carts

by Nathalie Fiset

Golf has been around for centuries, and has become the subject of movies, music videos, books, even songs. The game of golf is also associated closely with the rich and famous, as the game itself seems to conjure up a slow life without care, and with all the comforts of servants and free time. There are caddies to carry everything, a large course through which golfers can putt or swing their way through, and golf carts on which they can get from one place on the course to the next.
Golf carts, or golf cars, as they are sometimes known, are small automobiles that were once designed to carry two golf players, along with their clubs. Golf carts were also meant to carry players and equipment faster around the golf course, so that the golfers would not waste their time walking. In recent years, however, golf carts are used in larger courses, where walking can be exhausting. Some players can opt to eschew golf carts in favor of a day spent strolling on the green, where everything, from simple chats to business deals can be discussed.
Today, golf carts are designed to carry more than two golfers and their equipment. These carts are open, with no air-conditioning, and are designed to carry more than two people through short distances. In general, golf carts can run at about twenty five miles an hour; they will generally be four by eight by six feet in volume, and will weight anywhere from nine hundred to about a thousand pounds.
Golf carts were once run with gas engines, since these allowed them to be filled with ordinary fuel that could be easily available to most golf courses. However, many golf courses are located in isolated areas, where gasoline can be difficult, and often dangerous to transport. Instead, carts today are powered with electricity, and were the very first kinds of automobiles to be powered in such a manner.
In fact, electrically powered golf carts are now mass-produced for many purposes other than ferrying golfers across a course. These electrically powered vehicles are also used in small housing communities, beach resorts, and desert areas. They have also been modified to fit certain weather and lighting conditions. However, because most of these carts are open, they can be difficult to use where pollution and noise are high, and where high speed cars or heavy trucks are used alongside them.
The latest models of golf cars have also been fashioned to resemble cars, and can have their own entertainment system, customized wheels, and body panels that can be custom built and painted in a variety of colors. In fact, with recent modifications made to golf cars, a market seeking aftermarket parts has also grown. Parts, such as electrically powered engines, can be important to other vehicle manufacturers. In fact, a Hummer golf cart has since been made available.
How important is a golf cart to a golf course? Not all golf courses are green, and neither are all of them flat. The most challenging golf courses will be composed of varying shades and textures of grass, and will be overlain not only with greenery, but with trees, bushes, water hazards, and sand as well. The most difficult courses will also be set on different elevations, making shots and estimations even more complicated. In such cases, a golf cart can benefit golfers who want to trek the entirety of a golf course without dropping dead from exhaustion first.
Most golf courses are composed of eighteen holes, all of which will be situated in different areas that are ensured to be hard to reach by golf course designers. Each area, as well as the tee-off point, will be composed of different materials, and will require different putting or swinging techniques. For instance, fairway grass, which consists of short, even grass, allows a player to see a ball well and thus strike it easily. The rough is an area where grass is allowed to grow to its maximum height, so that players caught in it can find it hard not only to strike the ball, but get it out of the rough in the first place.
Because such unevenness and variety runs rampant on the average golf course, any golf player will need a golf cart to get around. If you are interested in golf carts, whether for your community, resort, or golf course, or for your private use, then inquire at your local golf equipment provider and merchant. If you can steer the advantages of a golf cart to your side, and if you know the market and aftermarket parts market well enough, you can enjoy your cart, whether or not you play the game.

Tips on Shopping for the Right Golf Shoes

by Nathalie Fiset

Will the right pair of golf shoes make you win a golf tournament? Will it make a difference in your golf game? When it comes to golf shoes, it's not just about the looks because you could be wearing flip-flops and still score great if you're really a good golfer. But even Tiger Woods wears the right pair of golf shoes. He must and you should, too because whether you like it or not, the game of golf is all about the details. Here's why.
Golf is about the swing.Golf is a game that combines skill, accuracy and focus. There are other factors that affect your game, of course, but how you feel actually makes your golf game good or bad. So what has the swing got to do with the shoes? Take it from Jack Nicklaus, who says that everything that 'comes out of the lower body' is led by the feet.
Golf is a game people fall in love with and when you play, you're supposed to enjoy it. If your golf shoes bother you, making it difficult for you to walk, stand or move, your game will suffer. If choosing the right equipment is important in golf, why shouldn't you choose the right golf shoes? Here are some of the top considerations you'll have to think of when you're in the market for a good pair:
TypeWhen you think of golf shoes, the first pair that comes to mind is probably the classic type. You'll find a good variety of this kind to fit your own personal taste and needs. Choose the lightweight pair and those that are appropriate for the weather conditions you will play in.
Another style you might want to check out is the sandal, which is not as confining as saddle golf shoes. It's also lightweight, very breathable and great to wear during the hot months of summer. Sandals are very comfortable although you'll have to make sure the fit is just right. Walking long distances with those straps may produce blisters. Don't use during wet weather.
The boot is not very popular nor is it very common. This evolved due to the need to adapt to the changes in the weather. Golf boots are tough, offer great traction and are a great substitute to the waterproofing qualities of the classic golf shoe. They're also more expensive. If you need warmth and water protection, try these on.
WaterproofingRecommended if not even the rain can stop you from a golf game. Wet feet are very clammy and uncomfortable and if you play a lot of games with them, you better watch out for blisters. Look for material made from Goretex which is tough and very reliable against bad weather, although it also offers breathability and warmth.
Leather or polyesterGolf shoes that are made of leather are the more preferred among golfers. Leather offers natural waterproofing on top of the add-on thrown in by the manufacturers. It's great for use during summer and is quite breathable. If you're buying leather, look for quality of make and fit and make sure you don't scrimp.
If you're on a budget, a polyester lining would be an ideal material for your golf shoe. Polyester offers non-porous protection and it's lighter. Cheaper, too.
StyleNot to be taken lightly. Golf shoes used to be this strange stand-alone creatures on the shelf that didn't look like they belonged anywhere else than the greens. But now, thanks to some serious style makeover, say goodbye to the boring oxford-style golf shoes and hello to the more hip evolution available today. Simply choose the golf shoes for good fit, comfort and the looks.
Extra buying tip:Take time when buying your golf shoes and try not to be your golf buddy's clone. His golf shoes might fit him well but your feet may be built differently. When you do find a pair that seems right, spend at least 5 minutes walking around on them. That should be enough to help you decide whether those golf shoes are right for you.
If you want your golf shoes to last and retain their shape, buy a good pair of shoe trees. Those made with cedar are the best, although you may choose other types, as long as they can help keep your shoes in good shape and absorb the moisture. If it's a good pair of golf shoes, it must have cost a bit of an investment on your part so make sure it's taken care of.

Find the Right Golf Bag

by Nathalie Fiset

Golfing is surely a wonderful game. It takes some considerable amount of skills to be able to master the game. Of course, it will require some golfing equipment and they are far from being inexpensive. Thus, it is very important that you get your precious golf clubs and equipment protected. Your golf bag is very crucial to ensure this protection.
A good golf bag is essential to any golfer. It serves as a container for your favorite golf clubs. It is also a way of transporting easily your equipment as you move from one point to another. You also have to make sure that your golf bag can handle the stresses in the environment as you drive to play your game. This is why you have to find the right golf bag.
Finding the Right Golf Bag for Your Game
There are many aspects to consider in choosing your golf bag. Of course, you need to evaluate the golf bag according to these aspects so that you get to enjoy it as you use it.
Price Range of the Golf Bag
One of the priority considerations among golf enthusiasts is the price of the bag. There are all sorts of golf bags to see in the market. The branded ones and those that just newly released will surely be more expensive. There are also discounted ones that you can get during a sale. It will not be that challenging for you to find one that will fit in your budget. However, there may be other considerations, as enumerated below, that you must factor in.
Golf Bag Features
You also have to consider the features of the golf bag. There are a variety of features that can be incorporated in a golf bag. You will need to find the ones that will suit your taste and comfort. Consider also that the material and color must fit your personality.
For example, there are golf bags that have specific design in their straps and handles. You may want to look on the materials of these straps and find that is most comfortable to you. You may also want to have a golf bag with enough pockets for your golf balls and tees.
Types of Golf Bags
Golf bags are classified also according to types where each type serves a particular purpose. You have to be aware of this to find the right golf bag for your needs.
Staff Golf Bag
The staff bag is the most basic bag among golfers. This can be easily identified with their large size, heavy weight and complete with the whistles and bells. A staff bag can make room for many things with the number of pockets built in it. This is something that can be quite a hurdle when you go out there to play golf. As such, you may want to consider hiring a caddy if you purchase a staff bag for your game.
Cart Golf Bag
The cart bags are smaller than the staff bags. However, they can still be quite a burden if you attempt to carry it throughout the golf course. Carrying the cart bag is manageable for short distances only. Cart bags are still roomy enough to give way for your golf equipment and items but small enough to be able to make it in a golf cart. This is an ideal companion if you have a golf cart to get you around.
Carry Golf Bag
Finally, you have the carry bag to consider. This is smaller compared to the cart golf bag and the staff golf bag. This is small enough to make it manageable to for the golfer to walk and cover distances while carrying it. Due to its size, the carry golf bag can only make room to your essential golf clubs and a few golf balls. There might be no room for your extras, if ever you have to fit them in the few pockets allotted. Carry golf bags are also characterized by inexpensive materials like nylon or plastic. Evidently, carry bags are for people who want to carry the golf bag on his or her own.
Conclusion
There are many types of golf bags to choose from. They vary in shape, size and features. Choose one according to your own taste and desire. Just keep in mind that you must choose a golf bag that will serve its purpose as you play.

Green and Fertile Bargains and Goodies: Finding a Good Golf Retailer

by Nathalie Fiset

Finding a good golf retailer in your town can be as difficult as getting the perfect swing to push your golf ball in the right direction. When negotiating a move in golf, you need to place your feet in just the right place, flex your muscles with just the right tension, and push your body from side to side with just the right force. In addition to these, you will need just the right wind velocity and direction to allow your golf ball to reach its destination; as well as the right golf course surface to effectively give you the hole in one that you want.
In other words, with all these factors that go into the perfect golf swing, you can be sure that there are more chances for your game to go wrong. The same is true when looking for the best golf retailer: you may end up with many wrong ones, with their poor, faulty products or unaccredited equipment; and it may take years for you to find just the right one. Not only can it take you a long time to find the perfect golf retailer, it can also be frustrating, since rapid changes in technology also entail that newer, better golf products and equipment will be available as soon as you purchase today's great ones.
So how can you find the best golf retailer to meet your golf equipment needs? First, you need to do research. Look at the history of golf, as well as its political structure. There are two main governing bodies in the world of golf: the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and the United States Golf Association. These two organizations are in charge of overseeing the implementation of the rules of golf, and are constantly engaged in scrutiny and accreditation of various aspects of the game, from the equipment that golfers use, to the rankings that professional golfers achieve after every game.
The best retailers will carry products accredited and inspected by these associations. Larger retailers will even have connections to the USGA, and will carry products exclusively endorsed by professional golf players. Undoubtedly, any golf retailer with such products will have the license to increase prices on them. Accredited and inspected clubs and balls will definitely be more expensive, especially since they are considered competition-fit. Any payment you make to such retailers will be high, but you can consider such payments for equipment as investment.
If you want to save money, however, then you will need to do more research. Look for retailers near your area by searching for them online. If a golf retailer has enough time and money to advertise online, then that same retailer will be trustworthy, and can have good products. When you find retailers in your area, list all of them down and pay them all a visit. Remember, in any aspect of shopping, scouring through more stores means increasing your chances of getting a great bargain.
Do not spend all your money in one store. Instead, look through all the retailers in your area; if you have a car and time on your hands, you can also look for retailers that are a few hours away, and explore if they are worth going to. If they have more golfing equipment at better prices, then you are better off traveling and buying a lot of equipment, than staying close to home and possibly saving money, but constantly having a bad game of golf in the process.
As you stop at every golf retailer, scrutinize the staff. If you are a true golf enthusiast, you will know immediately if the staff is also well-versed in golf. Make friends with staff members, especially those who can give you good advice on what equipment will be best for your game. Such staff members will not only be friendly and accommodating, but will not be afraid to recommend other stores at which you can shop, or cheaper golf equipment brands that are as good as the expensive ones.
Such friends can also be precious when you need to get golf equipment at the last minute. Who knows, these friendly staff members can get you discounts! As long as you are friendly and accommodating yourself, you will not have a hard time getting the bargains you need. If you are especially eager to know golf better and get the best golf products, you might also want to join online groups and forums devoted to golf. This way, you can get more golf buddies on your side, and even get insider advice on the best products to make you have a better game.
The best golf retailer will give you the best equipment at the best prices. If you are searching for such retailers, follow the above tips, and be as inquisitive as possible. The best golf game can happen if you have confidence in your golfing equipment.

Better Games, Good Times: A Small Golf Tip Collection for Both Players and Enthusiasts

by Nathalie Fiset

Golf is a sport equated with rich, famous people who have all the time in the world on their hands. After all, a game of golf can last at least one whole afternoon, and can involve at least one person strolling lazily on the green or going around it in a golf cart - all while using a metal stick to push a ball into a hole, take the ball out, and push it into another hole. Golf, however, can be enjoyable to both play and watch, so if you are hoping to feed your love for the game, this golf tip collection is for you.
The first golf tip involves research. Know your golf history thoroughly, from its origins (the Scots, possibly even the Dutch or the Chinese) to its present day rules (governed by the Royal and Ancient Academy of St. Andrews, as well as the United States Golf Association). If you know your golf history, you can better appreciate the game; moreover, if you know all the nitty-gritty details about golf, you will know what constitutes a good game, and what makes up a bad one.
Second, use your knowledge for good. The next golf tip involves taking advantage of the social aspect of the game by joining online groups and forums devoted to golf. In such groups, you can find different kinds of people devoted to the game: companies selling golf merchandise, young players eager to learn more, old players willing to impart their wisdom and knowledge, and even current players placing a finger on the pulse of their fellow golf enthusiasts. You will find new golf buddies, not to mention a much larger golf tip collection than can be offered now.
Another golf tip involves your golfing attire. Get only the best attire, but work within your budget. Get cool clothes to keep you from being dehydrated on a sunny day on the course, but keep a jacket handy if you see any sign of rain. Don't be afraid to pack a golf umbrella and sun block. Use good golf shoes, but don't fall for the hype of spikes or cleats: these can damage the well-trimmed and maintained grass of a golf course on a dry day, so you may be better off using shoes with wide cleats or suction cups instead.
The next golf tip involves your ability to use the weather to your advantage. If you have played many games in different conditions, you will most certainly be familiar with the adage, 'If anything can go wrong, it will." This is very true in golf: so many factors go into the making of a great swing and a hole in one, so that something is definitely bound to go wrong, and there is a greater chance that you will make a bad shot.
Swing the odds to your favor by understanding how the weather can affect your game. Different weather-related factors can push your ball in different directions: wind speed and velocity, relative humidity, even the layout of a golf course can change the trajectory of your golf ball and the success of your game. If you have a wind coming from behind you, then you may need to use a golf club that has a larger lie angle, so that you can assist the ball in rising higher and faster into the air. If the wind is blowing into your face, on the other hand, you will need to use a golf club that has a lower lie angle, as fast winds from this direction can create even greater drag on the ball.
These are only a few weather-related factors that can either throw your ball into the wrong direction, or have you swinging with little winning. For more information, buy golf books discussing the physics of golf. You might also want to practice your swing on the course and experiment with various weather conditions, so you can see for yourself what kinds of conditions affect the outcome of your game.
One last golf tip involves shopping. If you are looking for golf clubs, equipment, carts, shoes, clothes, and balls, then look for them in as many establishments as possible. Do not spend all your money in one shop. Make friends with sales persons, as they can help you pick the best brands for your game, and can even make recommendations on how you can improve it.
This golf tip collection is by no means comprehensive, but it can give you an idea of how complicated golf can really be. It may look like a few rich people spending some lazy hours on the course, but a good game of golf involves physics and smart buying. If you are seeking a better game and good times on the course, look for more golf tips online and learn more about your favorite sport.

Improve Your Putting Skills For A Better Game Of Golf

by Stacey Spencer

Many golfers simply play for fun and relaxation while others take the game extremely seriously. Regardless of the reason for playing, a golfer is not likely to have much fun if their game is not up to their expectations so many are continuously seeking to improve their golfing skills. Many golfers have a great drive but suffer with their putting techniques and improving this skill can indeed improve the entire game. While golf putting is often thought to be one of the simplest golf shots, it is often the biggest problems for many golfers. In order to improve your golf putting skills it is important for a golfer to understand the physics of putting, swing, body movement, and distance control. It is the purpose of this article to discuss the above topics in the hope that understanding will lead to a better golf game.
Golf putting is said by some the only shot that's possible to execute without flaws but it is more than just a straight line hit the target shot. Simply put, putting is just a series of individual skills much like pitching or chipping but until you get the skills in place, putting can be a very frustrating thing. Putting is an individualistic stroke that takes patience, repetition and perfect practice. While many golfers reject the idea of practicing it is apparent that the golfer will indeed improve his and her putting proficiency by practice. While practice is important so that a golfer will learn to repeat the same action consistently, it is also critical that the proper technique is being followed. The first step is to control your swing.
In golf, everything begins and ends with your swing and while you don't have to understand all the ins and outs of the golf swing in order to play well, it certainly will help. Most beginning golfers dont realize how much skill and technique goes into a proper golf swing and while many golfers practice a great deal, they never achieve the swing that they want to possess. Generally, the correct golf swing is a set of highly complex body movements which require precise coordination of the hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, torso, hips, legs, and knees of the golfer. The golf swing requires you to draw the golf club through a long range of motion with proper technique and exact timing. Think of your putting stroke as the pendulum on a grandfather clock, swinging evenly and at a consistent tempo. Once you have perfected your swing you still need to learn about movement control.
Optimal putting technique depends on the integration of targeting with movement control. In golf, putting is a fine motor skill that requires two movements, a backswing and a forward swing and any other movement of your body will take the putt off-line so you always want minimal movement while putting. One of the bad habits associated with golf putting is that golfers often lift their heads during a putting stroke to see if a ball will go in the hole. Movement of the head can greatly decrease the accuracy of the putting stroke. For correcting this problem it is necessary to use smooth tracking of the roll of the ball with the eyes moving faster than the head until the ball attains a certain distance and then the head motion closes the gap and head orientation becomes coincident with gaze direction. Once you have body movement mastered it is time to work on your distance control.
Distance control seems to be a big problem for beginning putters because getting a feeling for putting distance is one of the hardest aspects of golf to master. Putting distance control is achieved by an even swing. The art of golf putting requires a visualization of the slope and grain of the green and a feel for the distance of the putt and stroking the putt with the right amount of force involves a feel for the distance. In golf putting, touch and distance control are achieved by striking the ball in the center of the putter every time. A good way to judge distance before putting is to walk to the middle of the putt to see the true distance.
While golf is never a perfect sport and a golfers game can fluctuate depending on varying circumstances, it is possible to become more consistent with practice. As already discussed above, when a golfer can improve their putting skills their overall game will also improve. Another option for improving your game and putting skills is by employing a golf training aid such as the RefinerGolf swing trainer. Regardless of what method you use the phrase Practice Make Perfect really is true. Happy golfing.

What type of golf equipment is required for novices?

by Ophelia Smith

If you are just starting to play golf, your requirements for golf equipment can not be same as that of Tigerwoods requirements. Just take it light and excuse the impression from above as you really need to go to the basics while starting to play golf. Golf playing is purely a skill that needs to be developed with practice. Starting with clubs worth thousands will no be more helpful for you as you need to go with second hand clubs worth fifty dollars.
Basics of golf start with the selection of clubs. Shopping on internet can save you precious time and money but this selection can be difficult as there seems to be enormous options available for you. Studies have shown that dramatic increase in the sale of golf clubs have been noticed in the last two years but people really do not know what they are buying. I think the reason is that the people have more money than sense. Every year in March, normally considered as the start of golfing year, huge number of new members are seen on the first tee having golf equipment of thousand dollars with miser golfing skills. Whether you are playing golf for few years or just a beginner, you need to know your requirements properly. Decide carefully and well within your requirements, as savings can be spent on other golf apparel.
What Essential Equipments You Need To Have?
Without being foolish, you need to have following essentials. Golf cartWaterproof golf shoesGolf balls
Golf Carts
Some people like to carry their bags but most of the golfers prefer to purchase a golf cart. These carts can be either manual or battery operated. Manual carts can be folded away in the trunk of your car but battery operated carts are more complex and need some handling tips before usage. Beginners need to carry it on their own but still they can purchase golf carts with in the limitations of their budget. .
Golf Shoes
For playing golf, specialized waterproof shoes are must. If your shoes are not waterproof, put them in garbage as due to wet feet you can run the risk of nasty cold or flue. For better golfing, your feet must be dry all the times.
Golf Balls
Don't be silly in the selection of ball, as it will make difference in distance and spin. If you are a novice, you should expect to loose more, so do not be silly by buying the latest and greatest. Just look to develop your accuracy in the game otherwise you could be losing valuable distance from the tee that means the difference on your next shot from an eight iron or a comfortable pitching wedge.
Golf Tee And Golf Gloves
Short and simple, higher tee should be selected if you are using oversized head. For this plastic or wooden tees can be best option as these do not break easily. You should also have golf gloves to grip properly in damp conditions.

A Closer Look At Tiger Woods Golf Swing

by Wade Robins

Golfers didn't used to focus so much on fitness as part of their golf training. It seemed unnecessary to spend your time doing stretches and exercises that worked out parts of the body that weren't "golf-specific."
Then, along came a 20-year-old kid who blew all these old golfers out of the water, hitting 180 mph balls off the tee. The era of Tiger Woods had come.
Suddenly everyone wanted to unlock the secrets of the Tiger Woods golf swing. It was obvious he had a different way of going about things, and eventually this young golfer would change the way we train and play.
There's more than just the mechanics of the swing. Let's take a look at what makes Tiger Woods golf swing so solid.
It's All About Keeping Fit
One reason Tiger can swing like that is that he's flexible and strong. If you need any evidence that a good overall fitness program to build strength and flexibility is essential for a great golf swing, look no further than our man Tiger.
Tiger Woods knows that golf is a full-body sport. That's why he follows a rigorous training routine that includes the whole body and not just golf-specific exercises. He has always advocated weight training and stretching as part of a golf practice routine.
It's All About Energy
Tiger uses every little bit of energy he can. When he swings, he turns his body fast while gently pushing his right leg (the back leg in his swing) forward. The result is that no energy is wasted. All the potential energy he's built up in the backswing gets released, and the full force of it hits that ball.
He can do this because he has a strong core. The study of biomechanics has taught us the ways in which all the parts of the body work together to give you a good golf swing. The core is your lower body and torso. When you swing at a golf ball, your core is like the axis, and the rest of the body rotates around it.
A perfect golf swing like Tiger's involves efficiently winding up and storing your body's natural energy, then releasing it in a natural and controlled way.
It's All About Smooth, Natural Movement
But, it's not over when he hits the ball. After he smacks the ball, he lets his body follow through and finish that rotation. The club ends up behind his back. He lets it swing freely around him, allowing it to follow its natural course.
Tiger swings all the way through the ball. Stopping the full rotation before it reaches its natural end tenses up your body, and can have a disastrous effect on how you hit the ball. Swinging all the way through adds distance to your shots. This is why he lets the rotation follow all the way through.
It's All About Your Mind
Finally, Tiger Woods keeps relaxed. It's hard enough to keep yourself relaxed when you're making a shot with your friends, but imagine when the entire golfing world is watching! But, keeping cool is essential in golf, more than any other sport, and Tiger never loses it out on the green.
If you follow these tips, you'll be just as good as Tiger Woods in no time. Just kidding. But seriously folks, watch Tiger Woods golf swing and you'll see your own game improve.

The Wonderful Game of Golf

by Gary A

If you are new to the game of golf congratulations you have found one of the greatest sports to not only test your skills but also your mental toughness. The wonderful game of golf. It truly is a test. Golf is an astounding sport and tests every ounce of the human body and mind. I stumbled across the game about 7 years ago while in college and I haven't stopped since. The game of golf is intoxicating, once you have it in you can't shake it. You will continuously look for ways to improve your game. You want to be sure that you do things right from the beginning. This includes everything from the simple swing to the art of putting. I strongly suggest taking lessons from a golf pro. Every golf course has one that is qualified to instruct. They can help with every aspect of the game. Lessons can be very costly so make sure that golf is something that you really want to devote time and money to. I also encourage reading as many books as possible for rules, golf etiquette, and golf techniques or tips. This is a low cost way to help with the basics of golf. I read many books online, I found them to be cost affective and a good way to understand the golf swing and the mechanics behind it. After reading a couple of books I would signup for an actual lesson, so I would understand the basics before actually using them or practicing them. You want to make sure you are doing everything correctly. Golf is a wonderful sport and can be shared with the whole family. It doesn't matter if you are a girl or a boy, a grandma or a grandpa. The game can be played by all and can be enjoyed for a lifetime. So get out there learn about the game and enjoy yourself.

Great Game with a Golf Driver

by Nathalie Fiset

There are many things that a golfer must aim for. Of course, a great game is always on the list. However, to ensure that one gets to improve the golf skills and ultimately the game, it is crucial to make use of the essential golf equipment. There is more to playing golf than just getting a golf ball and a bunch of golf clubs. You need equipment such as the golf driver to improve on your shots on the golf course. This golf driver is surely a handy companion to all golf enthusiasts.
The Golf Driver
The golf driver plays a big role in the performance of any game. The golf driver is used to hit the ball off the tee. It is aimed at assisting the golfer to determine where the ball will land. It also serves to set off the direction of the game. The golf driver will definitely have a big influence in the score that the golfer will get.
With the golf driver at hand, it is completely possible to have a good game. Hitting the golf driver long and straight with all your heart in it can very much be a start of a good outcome.
If the ball is able to reach the fairway through the golf driver, then it is easier to aim for the green. You can get near the green, if not completely on it. Getting a shot to the green is a big deal. From here, the golfer can try aiming further for the better shot for a par. If the golfer can even do better, then getting a birdie is not impossible.
On the other hand, if you do not focus enough on using the golf driver properly, you will end up in a weird situation. Your ball will end up out of bounds or land on some trees or traps if you fail to seriously make the long and straight move with your golf driver. That is not something that you want if you are aiming for a serious golf. Thus, focus properly on your game and make the most out of the help that your golf driver can extend.
Evidently, most golfers will definitely rely heavily on their golf drivers. All sorts of golfers, beginners, low handicap players, and even the pros, do need the help of the golf driver. This is why you have to make sure that you have a golf driver in your golf bag when you play. This could be your big shot to making a birdie. It is definitely worth the try.
Choosing the Golf Driver
Considering the importance of the golf driver, it is important that you get your own set. There are lots of sporting goods shops out there where you can easily purchase a golf driver. However, it is up to you and your discretion to pick the right one that will best suit your needs and circumstances in the golf course.
Like most golf equipment, there are all sorts of brands and manufacturers of golf drivers. There are plenty of choices. Thus, all you will have to do is to discern which one will work for your game.
Most people will rely on the brand name, thinking that they can get the good performance if they pay high for their golf driver. This may be true in some instances. However, choosing a good golf driver must first focus on the design and function of the equipment. Find one that has been developed by technology to fit the needs of golf players. There are considerations such as allowing the golfer to manage the driver as regards balancing the center of gravity. This gives the player more control over the game. You may also want to look at the options provided for the shaft.
Most golf enthusiasts may also worry about the price range of the golf drivers. It is possible to get golf drivers at discount shops. This will be the more affordable option. Also, there are some good sporting brands that manufacture series or designs that are set at a lower price. You can take opportunity of this to ensure quality with your affordable purchase.
Play a great game of golf with your golf driver. Use it to improve on your skills and your performance. This way, you can aim high with your golf.

Golf Head Cover Designs

by Nathalie Fiset

Playing golf can be one of the most favorite past times for a wide variety of people. If you have the time, the right golf technique, a good movement coordination, and of course, the resources to acquire golf equipment and to get to a golf course where you can play golf, you are almost all set to enjoy golf. However, although many may seem to nod to the idea that golf is all about those mentioned basic requirements, some beg to disagree. There's more to golfing if you are a fun-loving person and that is making your equipment top of the line, golfing accessories included, such as golf head covers.
What is a golf head cover, a newbie in golfing might ask. It is that golf accessory that protects the golf driver, and even irons if you have a full set, from getting damaged during travels or just when you are in a hurry to pull a club out or drop one into the bag.
What's the use of a golf head cover, as mentioned, it is for protection. Since golf is a not-for-the-pauper game, golf equipment can be with very hefty price tags. The expensiveness of golf equipment is the very reason that many golfers need to protect their stuff. A golf head cover can help in this arena.
Golf clubs need utmost care and one of the most critical parts of golf clubs that require care is the golf club head. Why? The golf club head can make or break your game since this part of the golf club is the very part that gets in direct contact with the golf ball. Using golf head covers can solve a golfer's dilemma about how to care for this important part of his or her golf clubs.
One of the greatest nemesis of many golfers is rust on their golf club heads. And as nature has made it to be, rust can't be avoided. A golf enthusiast can be very particular in maintaining their golf club heads clean and safe from rust. But it's just impossible to expect rust to never visit your golf club heads because these golf equipment are made of carbon steel which is plated with chrome. As one uses a club, it gets exposed to abrasion, friction, and moisture, which builds up to produce rust. And rust on golf club heads can eventually turn a great golfer's greatest hit into a bad one. You can slow down the process of allowing your priced golf club heads from succumbing to annoying rust - use golf club head covers. The golf head cover will keep the club head dry, which will consequently delay rusting.
Now after the uber-functional discussion about golf head covers, let's go to the fun part. Golf head covers are also considered status symbols. The style of your golf head cover will indicate what your preferences are in terms of aesthetic value and of course, it will show what you can afford to buy. This is because there is a myriad of golf head covers, even designer ones that the more sophisticated type of golfer will definitely love.
So what are your golf head cover design options? Choose among the following popular designs by deciding which will suit your personality best.
Plain golf head cover exists for those who hate too much trinkety sporting equipment. It can be less taxing if you are someone who gets disturbed by too much color or attention, especially from other golf players.
Popeye golf head cover is available for those who never get tired of the Popeye cartoon show. You will almost hear your golf club head munching on spinach if you use this style of golf head cover. Just kidding!
A bulldog golf head cover is for you if you simply love dogs, especially bull dogs. Great for really virile guys who want more fun from golf and some attention from other golfers, say girl golfers. Arf!
State flag design head covers are for those who are very patriotic and would always appreciate anything that symbolizes his or her country.
Your own golf club might be giving away free golf head covers. Just ask.Enjoy protecting your golf club heads with fun golf head covers!

The Game Named Golf

by Acario Daire

Golf is a very popular sport especially among the elite. It is played in a vast expanse of land covering many acres and is generally known as the golf course. The golf course has a number of holes mostly eighteen into which the ball is hit from the designated area called the teeing ground.
The player plays his first stroke on each hole from the teeing ground using a small wooden or plastic peg called the tee. There are a wide range of tee boxes which comply to any type of players whether amateurs, professional or skilled players. The teeing grounds are mostly flat enabling the player to have a perfect shot.
Two important terms used in the game of golf is fairway and tough. The first stroke of the ball might land the ball either in the fairway or rough. Fairway is that area where the grass is neatly trimmed short and even, thereby helping the player to hit the ball with ease. Whereas landing the ball in rough means to hit the ball in the rough area of grass which is rough and longer. It is rather hard hit the ball in this area and the it affects the flight of the ball.
Although the holes are placed straight ahead of the teeing ground, some holes are bent either to the left or right like a dog's leg and thus aptly known as 'dogleg left' or 'dogleg right'. Many holes are addressed as hazards and they are of three types. Manmade dugout or trenches are a hazard, lakes, rivers etc are known as water hazards, and gardens, bushes and dense vegetation are called as lateral hazard. There are a set of special rules which imply while playing in these hazards.
The cup or the hole into which the ball is to be sent should be 108mm or 4.2 inches in diameter and mostly 100mm or 3.94 inches deep. The cup is not permanently established it can change positions day to day. A flag is usually positioned inside the cup so that it can be seen from the distance. The grass or the green should me maintained and kept short enabling the ball to smoothly roll over it.
The ball when hit outside the borders of the golf course which is generally termed as 'out of bounds' should be hit back from the same place with a penalty of a stroke. But if the ball happens to land in an area under repair or ground under repair the player can be placed outside the 'G.U.R' area and hit it again without penalty. Other note worthy playing areas is the practice or driving range which is specially designed to hlp the beginners practice the game.
Players thus keeps on hitting the ball from one hole to another and the player who rests the ball in the holes with few strokes emerges as the winner. Usually golf players walk around the golf course in a groups and the caddies or helpers carry the game equipments of the players.

Where To Play Golf In Europe's Winter

by R. Ritchie

Europe's winter can be down time for less intrepid golfers, and many avoid the winter chill and opt for a golfing holiday in southern destinations. Whether it's a trip to the nearby Canary Islands or Cyprus, or a longer journey to Mauritius, a relaxing game of golf in the sunshine is the perfect antidote to the winter blues. Just imagine, in just a few hours you could be on a green with the sun on your back.
Cyprus offers golf and moreCyprus is one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean and its warm climate makes golfing a pleasure year-round. Scenic pine-clad mountains and a stunning coastline form a backdrop to its excellent golf courses. If you fancy a touch of luxury, stay at the Paphos Amathus Beach Hotel and you'll have good access to the island's 3 golf courses as well as the charming old town of Paphos. The many local vineyards offer wine tasting and there are excellent dining options outside of the hotel.
The oldest course in Cyprus, the Tsada Golf Club, with its undulating, natural fairways, runs through fruit orchards and vineyards. It is a par 72 course set 500 metres above sea level, that would suit both high and low handicappers. At the nearby par 72 Secret Valley course, well-maintained fairways are well separated. The newest course, Aphrodite Hills is set on cliffs above a beach and is surrounded by forest. The par 71 course is divided by a deep ravine.
Canary Islands - a winter golfing favourite Gran Canaria is a fantastic winter golf destination, and the historic par 72 Real Club de Golf Tenerife in the north of the most popular of the Canary Islands, Tenerife, is the second oldest golf club in Spain. The club is situated at 600 metres above sea level, with well-established trees, rolling fairways and deep cliffs, and accuracy is the name of the game here. But since there are six golf courses on Tenerife, you'll have a chance to try more than one. Par 72 Abama, set amongst thousands of trees, is winding and tactical with 22 lakes to get over or around. Preference is given to residents of the Abama Resort.
Gran Canaria, known for its beaches, is evolving as an excellent golf destination and there are now five courses. The par 7 Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas, in the centre of the island, is the oldest golf club in Spain. Located next to the crater of an old volcano, its short course, with its narrow fairways and small greens, require accuracy more than power. Near to the city of Las Palmas, the par 72 El Cortijo Club de Campo is dotted with lakes and features views of the ocean.
Mauritius - golfing in paradise This idyllic Indian Ocean island, with its white sandy beaches, offers golfers a choice of three courses. Belle Mare Plage a luxurious four-star golf resort, sited on a beach protected by an offshore coral reef, has two championship courses. The demanding Legend Course has two sets of 18 holes, with fairways lined with trees, and greens with spectacular backdrops. The relatively new par 71 The Links Course includes a practice fairway and a tough uphill fairway with a water trap. The hotel also offers a variety of water sports. All the well-appointed rooms have sea views.

by Kennard McGill

Golf discount and coupon sites like igolfalot.com help online golf shoppers find value deals online.
For many golf shoppers, looking for the best value on golf equipment starts by searching through the search engines, typing keywords like "golf discounts" and "golf coupons" looking to find a great deal before they commit to paying full retail price.
The number of golf equipment retailers online range in the hundreds if not thousands, selling everything from custom made clubs, specialized golf bags to the latest technical innovations like the new Nike SquareSumo2 Driver and the Callaway Ft-i Driver.
The competition for golf retailers to get you to shop and spend your dollars at their online store is intense. Retailers are constantly using sales promotions to get your attention with discounts sometimes better then 60% off and free shipping incentives.
And yet there are still plenty of other deals online from competing retailers that provide other value deals to online consumers. It's all a matter of finding which golf discount deals best fits your budget. Most people who shop are usually tempted to buy especially when they find a good deal.
Igolfalot.com is one web site source for golf shoppers looking to find the latest promotional offers online. Since 2004, igolfalot.com has been publishing discount deals and coupon offers on golf equipment delivering savings to the consumers.

The site represents a one way shopping guide to golf coupons and discounts. Although, igolfalot.com offers more than the coupon and discounts deals, they feature golf equipment from golf retailers with full product descriptions and the occasional user review.
Sites like igolfalot.com and other coupon discount sites allow online shoppers to immediately find deals they would otherwise spend hours looking for searching the web.

Teeing off at Tournaments With Golf Travel Bags

by Ajeet Khurana

"Fore", "par for the course", "a hole in one", "golf travel bags", and "Tiger Woods" -- familiar terms associated with the familiar sport of golf. We all know the rules: grip a golf club with both your hands, swing the club hard, hit the golf ball such that it whooshes through the air and falls into the hole beside the flag. Sounds quite simple, does it not?
Of course, you certainly don't need me to tell you that it is not as easy as it is made out to be. Sure, you probably won't end up getting bruises unless you use your club as a weapon, but will you manage to get that elusive "hole in one" with your very first swing? The probability is extremely low. There is a science and an art to every swing that a professional golfer makes. Not everybody is born a Tiger Woods, but everyone can learn the basics of the game at least.
So, how does one start? Well, first, you need to go get some equipment. Golf clubs, golf balls, either a book on beginner's golf or a coach, and a golf course where you can get enough practice at swinging the club and hitting the ball, as opposed to missing it. Also, a golf travel bag might come in handy, especially if you discover that you have the potential of a professional golfer. After all, every pro has to travel to the various tournaments. If you have invested good money in equipment, you need to ensure that they travel safely and reach the destination as good as new. As you find a footing in this non-violent gentleman's sport and prove to everyone that you are good at it, you will surely be off to new destinations with a golf travel bag in tow.
Why is there no specific travel bag for soccer or football though? Why do golfers get such advantages? Perhaps it is because, even while playing, golfers do not indulge in roughshod behavior with their clubs. A good golf club is forever, and can make the difference between winning or losing a tournament. A good golfer takes good care of his equipment, and as such has developed the quintessential golf travel bag.
Of course, buying good equipment, and getting hold of a decent golf travel bag is essential, but if you do not possess the instinct and drive of a golfer, those "I-am-turning-pro-tomorrow" dreams can never come true. As with all things, a little talent is far more important than the material tools you possess.

With discount golf articles golf turns affordable

by ken wilson

Some say that golf is the most expensive sport. The high costs make it available in most of the cases only to the wealthy people. The others have the option of discount golf to purchase golf clubs and other items.
The costs of an average round of golf let us take for example the USA is $36 and in this country, over 26 millions people enjoy the game. In USA, most states have public courses affordable for the average player. This connects directly to the system of green fees. There are the public courses paid by the municipalities and the courses in the inexpensive real estate areas, which are more affordable for all. The most expensive green fees are in the most expensive urban areas where golf courses are.
In our days, golf tends to identify with the pastime activity of wealthy business people or of some categories of professionals (lawyers, doctors, politicians, movie actors). Nevertheless, what makes golf so expensive apart from the practice of green fees? Let us try to operate a comparison with other sports. First, golf is not a sport where you can share the equipment like in football, where 22 players can play a single ball in the same time or even like basketball where the ball goes amongst by 10 players. In golf, it is rather expensive to purchase the entire set of golf clubs or even to rent it.
Playing golf as written before requires paying a green fee to enter the golf course. By contrast, football or basketball played on the public playground is free of charge. It is a fact that golf is not a school game and by that, we are targeting the fact that this game does not have an exposure to a large category of people. For instance, during school years, most children have contact with sports such as football, basketball, and sometimes tennis, but never with golf.
Another fact that makes golf an elite sport is the social aspect. Throughout the last years, golf turned into a recognizable mark for business people who now had the opportunity to develop personal relationships through this game.
Nevertheless, what about the rest of the people who wants to play golf? We have seen how expensive it can be to play golf, but there must be a cheaper solution to acquire the necessary equipment. Indeed, this solution is to buy from discount golf providers. A beginner with less money in his pocket should know that there are plenty of opportunities to buy discount golf equipment, golf packages and even discount golf vacations.
There are two ways of finding discounts: on the virtual shops over the Internet and on specialized brand shops that offers discounts on special occasions. Over the Internet, the dealers save money by not having a retail location to support. Moreover, they can reach a larger market and do a larger volume of business so their costs are lower.
Specialized branded shops occasionally offer discount golf equipment. You can go to the shop and try the golf clubs before you even buy them. If you go alone, make sure you buy something you really need. Study all the offers and then shop the needed golf clubs. We can say that this is a market for all those who want to play golf, wealthy or common people, it does not really matter. Golf, with a bit of a struggle, can become a sport for more than just a category of people.
About the Author
Discount golf can offer quality golf items such as golf clubs. Golf is not only for the rich, but also for the ones who are smart to shop from discount shops.

The Simple Golf Swing - Drop 7-12 stokes in about 2 weeks.

by Steve Perry

The Simple Golf Swing - Drop 7-12 strokes in about 2 weeks.
By Steve Perry
How would you like to be able to play a round of golf with Tiger and actually be able to compete? I would too...but I was not blessed with Tiger's natural ability. Unfortunately, I am what you would call just the ordinary average golfer. I usually have that 1 perfect shot per round that keeps me coming back for more each and every week thinking that I am starting to "figure it out". Of course, each and every week the scores just keep adding up to the same thing.
Does this sound familiar?
That was me until I discovered the Simple Golf Swing System by David Nevogt. Unlike other books that I have read, David's techniques were easy to follow and I truly noticed a difference in my swing the very first time out just by getting set up properly before each shot. Now don't get me wrong, I didn't go out and shoot my best round ever...in truth, my score was 2 strokes over my previous outing. The difference was that I was hitting more solid shots and I kept hitting my approach over the green!
The setup of a swing is only the start of the Simple Golf Swing. Once you cover that, you can make sure you are using the correct grip with pictures that show exactly where to place your hands. After you get used to these 2 steps, you will actually get into the meat of the swing.
The most important thing to remember is that practice really does make perfect. If you don't practice the steps to the Simple Golf Swing, you will not improve your scores. Also, remember that golf is just a game and games should be fun...however, it is always more fun when you see improvement.

5 Reasons to Plan Your Ireland Golf Vacation

by Judi Mehrens

Ireland has some of the most impressive golf courses in the world. Here are 5 reasons to book your vacation.
The Ballybunion Courses, both Old and Cashen, are a must see and play for any serious golfer. Located in the Southwest of Ireland, County Kerry, the course is 65 miles from Shannon and presents a lovely drive to get there. The town of Ballybunion welcomes with a statue of President Clinton in full golf swing. The Old course is said to remind visitors of St. Andrews, and Cashen, built in 1984, is described by one site as "a theatrical event all its own, and a highlight of any golfing visit to Ireland."
Druid's Glen, 30 minutes south of Dublin in Newtownmountkennedy, County Wicklow, is considered to be one of the finest new parkland courses in Ireland. Located in an area known as the Garden of Ireland, in an area of abundant wildlife, the course is considered Europe's answer to Augusta. The name of the course comes from a pre-Christian stone altar discovered during the construction of the course. The altar stands today with a Druid presiding over the 12th green.
Royal Dublin Golf Course sits on an island just 3 miles north of Dublin. It was the first club in Ireland to have 18 holes. Although originally built in 1895 in Phoenix Park, it moved in 1890 to Bull Island, in Dublin Bay, its present location, which is also a protected wildlife habitat. Besides offering a glorious golf experience, the setting provides breathtaking scenery.
Lahinch, County Clare, is often described as "the St. Andrews of Ireland," and the site also offers two courses, Old Course and Castle Course. Lahinch town is just over 30 miles west of Shannon Airport in County Clare. Founded in 1892, the course today is a favorite of Phil Mickelson. Castle Course offers the sights of Castle ruins as you play.
Finally, Adare Golf Club, County Limerick is host to the 2007 Irish Open. It is an 18-hole parkland course established in 1900. The course is built around the ruins of Desmond Castle, built in 1200, and the ruins of the Franciscan Abbey, built in 1464, offering challenges and diversions.
A tour of Ireland's magnificent and varied courses is certainly on every serious golfer's wish list. These are only five courses out of hundreds to be found in Ireland. There are accommodations either at the course itself or quite nearby, and they range from luxury to more basic. You can plan your vacation yourself or avail yourself of the many tour planning companies that specialize in golf vacationing. While not cheap, there are ranges of prices to fit most budgets.
Make this your year for an Ireland golf vacation.
